The
awards banquet for the Peachstate / Checkered Flag
Kartways was held December 5th at Ryan Steak House
in Commerce. With over 150 people in attendance the
Banquet was a huge success. Denver and Francis Phillips
have always believed in giving back to the people that
supported them and this banquet showed that. The only
down side was that Denver and Francis were unable to
attend as Denver was in the hospital with an undetermined
illness. At the time of this writing Denver was still in the
hospital but is due to be released soon.
Denver
and Francis want to give special thanks to Dennis,
Tammy and Kenny for filling in and make sure the Banquet
went off without a hitch.
There where trophies for the Top Four Drives in ten
classes, and many plagues for Special Recognition.
Along with the trophies each winner received a new
Briggs Engine. The engines were donated by Cash Karting,
Dill Performance, J.E.D. Motorsports, AAA Karting, S &
R Kart
Shop, Southern Express Kart Shop, Appletree Karting and
Jimmy Rivers Performance Works.
Second
place drivers along with their Trophies also
received a New pair of racing gloves. Everyone that
was in attendance and had ran in the points series
got a chance to win many other items that where
donated. QT Racing donated a Kart Hauler, Knights Kart
Shop a set of tires, Web Media a G-Man Colored Steering
wheel, Jaguar Karts a G-Man Plastic Body, Vickerys Kart
Shop a Simpson Racing Jacket, Kart Shop Fiberglass a
Fiberglass Body and Jerome Bradshaw a Custom paint job
on a racing helmet.
There was also four drawings for $100 bills, plus another
Simpson racing jacket, 2-Racing Helmets,2-Helmet Bags,
2-800 racing tires, 2-Tickets to Atlanta Motor Speedway
in March, $25.00 gift certificate at S&R Kart shop, $25.00
gift certificate at Cross Road Small Engines, 1-Vortex Clutch.
In
all it was a Huge success, with over $10,000.00 in
awards, with the promise of even a bigger and better
program for next year. If you didn't participate this year
I would recommend you do this coming year.
