***RELEASED BY WKA ON 2/08/00 RELEASE***
(this is a reprint of WKA release)

On 2.8.00 a release was issued by this office concerning the legalization of a billett flywheel by ARC for the Limited Modified & Modified classes. In order for WKA to properly notify itŐs membership, this must also be published in the February magazine. The February issue will be in the mail to the membership by 2.25.00. Therefore, it is the intention of WKA to make this rule effective by March 15, 2000. Until that time, we encourage you to follow this rule when possible, but we realize it would be difficult for the WKA members affected to be prepared to conform to this rule yet so quickly.
Thank you for your cooperation
. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

2.8.00 Update. Due to safety concerns WKA has made a rule change concerning the Limited Modified, Modified and Open Classes in 4-cycle.
Due to the immediate attention this issue required, WKA has found the company A.R.C. to be prepared to handle the demand on this part. The A.R.C. flywheel (part # 6608) is now the only legal flywheel for the above mentioned classes. As the season progresses, WKA and the Four-Cycle Committee will look at additional suppliers for this part if they become available.
We understand this will be putting a burden on the end user and we do not like to raise the cost of karting. However, when it comes to our membership, safety is first and foremost in our minds. For the continued growth of safe and competitive karting, we thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
